My mom’s yorkie does the exact same thing to her little bed. It’s a lethal dose of adorable.
I’m not sure about Yorkies but I know that dacshaunds (sp?) do this because they’re burrowing dogs. They were bred to be elongated so that they could hunt badgers (I’m pretty sure it was badgers, but it might’ve just been rodents in general) in their burrows where they would fight them (that’s the pawing motion, I believe). If things got too rough, the handler could pull them out by the tail/legs.
